And approximately every fifth message, written in a traditionally neat handwriting, when parsing mail gets into a large folder, on the spine of which it is briefly marked: "Female military personnel". They write about all sorts of problems... However, it has long been clear that it is much more difficult for the daughters of Mother Eve to live on our planet than for her own sons. And if someone thinks that among the harsh military men, a lady wearing shoulder straps will feel like in the Garden of Eden, this is not entirely true. In the army, the fair sex also faces serious difficulties, as the readers of Orientir are well aware of.

And yet, from time to time, among the extensive problematic correspondence, there are letters not about the hardships and privations of military service, but, on the contrary, romantic messages asking for help in realizing your dream: put on shoulder straps, become an army soldier.

Today we will tell you about the procedure for entering military service provided for citizens of the Russian Federation.

So, to begin with, it should be noted that to this day there is no Provision on the procedure for military service by female servicemen in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. This issue is still regulated by a regulatory document relevant to the Soviet Army and Navy of the seventies, plus orders from the Russian Defense Minister and directives from the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.

However, we will make a reservation right away, the admission of girls to higher educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense has been stopped (this does not apply to universities of other law enforcement agencies). What will happen in the future - time will tell. In short, this path to lieutenant shoulder straps on women's shoulders is now closed. But do not despair, you can try to join the officer corps of the army and Navy by graduating from a civilian university, preferably in a specialty that has application in the Armed Forces.

And the procedure for entering military service for all women, regardless of the level of education (in any case, not lower than average), is the same. In accordance with the Federal Law of the Russian Federation "On Military Duty and Military Service", female citizens are not called up for military service, but can enter only on a voluntary basis, having signed a contract.

So, you wanted to become a soldier and take up the position of, say, a soldier, a sailor, a sergeant or a petty officer. In order for the Ministry of Defense to give the go-ahead and sign a contract, you need to go through three stages of selection.

The first. It starts and ends at the military commissariat. Here women are selected individually - at the request of the commanders of military units or on the basis of calculations of military enlistment offices of republics, territories, regions and their equals.

Logic dictates that the best way to start is to find a specific vacancy in a specific unit and get the prior permission of the commander, who will then send you an application to the military commissariat.

You must pass a medical examination at the military registration and enlistment office at your place of residence. If your health is in order and you are eligible for military or navy service according to all other criteria, the personal file issued for you will be sent to the commander of a specific military unit.

Second. Review of personal files of women candidates for military service under a contract at a meeting of the attestation commission of a military unit. The commission's conclusion is submitted to the unit commander. He makes the decision as the sole leader. Positive or negative. If the latter, then the personal file indicating the reasons for refusal is sent back to the military enlistment office at the applicant's place of residence.

If a decision is made on the possibility of a woman entering military service under a contract, the unit commander sends a call-also to the military commissariat.

Third. It provides for checking the practical performance of receptions and actions by candidates in the scope of functional duties for the chosen position (specialty), passing tests for combined-arms and special training, and determining whether candidates meet the requirements established for citizens entering contract service. Inspections are carried out by attestation commissions on military equipment and weapons. This procedure is provided for in regulatory documents. In practice, things can be much simpler. But nevertheless, you need to prepare for the tests seriously, otherwise it is possible that you will have to go home due to professional unfitness.

If you have managed to prove your urgent need as a soldier (sailor) or sergeant (petty officer), the certification commission submits an opinion on the candidate's compliance with the qualification requirements and assessment sheets to the unit commander. And the commander, in turn, will invite you to a conversation and, taking into account the recommendations of the commission, will decide on the appointment to a specific full-time position.

Then the same commander, on behalf of the Ministry of Defense, will sign a contract for military service with you; you will take the military oath, and from that time on, you must clearly respond to any order with the statutory word "Yes!". Because now you are officially referred to as a "female servicewoman". Be sure to remember the word order. After all, you wanted to do it yourself and entered the military service voluntarily.
